How to Read a Positive Home Drug Test Result

Treat it as preliminary

A positive home screen means the test detected a targeted substance or metabolite above its cutoff. It does not automatically prove addiction, current impairment, intentional use, or exactly when use occurred.

Read the instructions again before reacting. Confirm the reading window, line interpretation, expiration date, storage conditions, and whether the sample or device was handled correctly.

Ask about possible explanations
